    the resident's of hawtorn avenue have asked for the grass verges to be repaired.this has been mainly caused by off road parking on the verges.what with the wet weather weve been having there are deep ruts and bare area's what's the point of repairing if damage is to contine they have a choice 1 don't park on the verge 2 replace verges with laybys widening hawthorn avenue.

    Acommunity champion who was dedicated to voluntary service has died at the age of 87. Betty Lewis, who was a lifelong resident of Brigg, was a staunch member of the town's St John's Church and supported many voluntary organisations. She died at Scunthorpe General Hospital on Friday, March 30, after a short illness. Mrs Lewis was a member and charity contact for Brigg Old People's Welfare Committee for more than 30 years.
